President Donald Trump (R) won the presidential election in Wyoming on November 3, 2020.
The Republican Party held its state convention on May 7-9, 2020. Former Vice President Joe Biden won the Wyoming Democratic caucuses. The party canceled in-person caucus events as a result of the coronavirus outbreak and encouraged voters to participate by mail. The deadline for receiving completed ballots was April 17, 2020.
Between 1900 and 2016, Wyoming voted for Republican presidential candidates 77 percent of the time. Heading into the 2020 election, the last time Wyoming voted for a Democratic presidential candidate was 1964, when Lyndon B. Johnson won the state.
In 2016, Trump won 70.1 percent of Wyoming’s vote, Hillary Clinton (D) won 22.5 percent, Gary Johnson (L) won 5.3 percent, and Jill Stein (G) won 1.0 percent.
